1. Opening The Free Screening Camp was inaugurated under the supervision of Dr. Ahmad Shahzad (President Lyallpur Diabetes Foundation) with the objective to promote early detection and awareness of diabetes and its complications in the community. The camp was sponsored by Tabros Pharma and organized jointly by LDF and PCDA.
2. Services Provided All services were provided free of cost to the general public. Each participant was registered using the official “Patient Slip” and the following screenings were conducted:
– FBS / RBS – Fasting and Random Blood Sugar testing – Blood Pressure – Hypertension screening – Protein Urea – Kidney function assessment – Cholesterol – Lipid profile check – BMI – Body Mass Index calculation and counseling – HbA1c – Glycated Hemoglobin for long-term sugar control
3. Proceedings A large number of patients from Faisalabad and nearby areas attended the camp. Upon arrival, patients were registered with details of Name, Age, and Date. Trained paramedical staff performed all tests and recorded results on the patient slip. Dr. Ahmad Shahzad (President Lyallpur Diabetes Foundation) personally reviewed the findings of high-risk patients and provided one-on-one consultation, dietary advice, and guidance on diabetes management and prevention. Educational material on “Learn Diabetes to Treat Diabetes” was also distributed.
4. Acknowledgement Dr. Ahmad Shahzad (President Lyallpur Diabetes Foundation) thanked Tabros Pharma for their generous sponsorship and support, which made it possible to offer all investigations free of charge. Appreciation was also extended to PCDA and the LDF team for their coordination and volunteer support.
5. Conclusion The camp concluded successfully with positive feedback from attendees. It was resolved that such screening camps will be organized regularly to reduce the burden of diabetes in underserved communities and to encourage timely medical intervention.
